The city of Satellite Beach is situated on Florida’s “Space Coast” in Brevard County. It was named Satellite Beach in 1871, because of its proximity to Cape Canaveral. Satellite Beach’s main asset is its scenic beauty. Many recreational opportunities are available including numerous parks such as Gemini Beach Park, Pelican Beach Park and Hightower Beach Park. Two prominent museums nearby are Brevard Museum of Art and Science and Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science. There is also a historical site, the Zora Neale Hurston House, nearby.
Satellite Beach is calm relaxed area in Brevard County. You can walk the coastline at Hangar’s Beach, or head over to Berkeley Canal Manatee Observation Point and take a look at these gentle giants. There are waterlife tours along the St. Johns river, where you can cruise across the water in an airboat. Who knows what you might see?
Two turtle restaurants are popular in Satellite Beach: The Green Turtle & The Surfing Turtle. You can grab dinner at The Green Turtle, known for its fresh (yet reasonably priced!) seafood.. Then hope over to The Surfing Turtle for a killer ice cream sundae. There are many popular and highly rated spots to dig your teeth into in Satellite Beach!
